Technique Tuesday

Attention: open in a new window. E-mail

You may think by the title that I am going to be offering new techniques each tuesdays but alas no, I just have a couple of techniques to share with you today. Both are simple cards and will be very easy to recreate.

Pear Card
This card has a tri colour background that is super easy to create. Just take an acrylic stampin block and ink it up with your choice of colours. The size of the block will determine the size of the stamped background. I used a Stampin' Up! D size block. I inked just one third of the block in so saffron ink by pressing the block into the ink pad. I inked the rest of the block in bashful blue ink and finally the top third in marina mist ink. Some of the bashful blue ink was covered by marina mist but being a darker colour it worked well. The ink may not always transfer evenly but that is all part of the look.
You can then stamp straight over top (make sure you use a dark ink) or add a fussy cut image like I have done with the pear, or add some punch art. The pear and the words underneath come from a hostess stamp set called Faith in Nature. You can recieve this for free by hosting a qualifying workshop. Contact me to find out more.

Baby Card
The gingham background for this card is created with the stripes embossing folder. I used a brayer to roll ink on the inside cover of my embossing folder, then I put the white card inside and rolled it through the big shot. The raised stripes come out coloured... Another quick and easy technique! I turned the card around to emboss again with the stripes going in the other direction and I reinked the stripes folder in a different colour.
